Valentines Makeover – The Nail & Lash Bar

Timing is everything, the male fraternity rushing around to get the right thing for the 14th realising that it falls on a Sunday so the last minute option may not be available.

The female fraternity keeping quiet about that fact to see if he really is switched on and delivers the goods on the day or comes with something bought from the BP garage up the road.

So while you wait to see, there is something here at the Frenchgate that will make your day perfect irrespective, the opening today of the Nail & Lash Bar at the gallery in the centre.

Not an expert on this myself but having had a look at the décor and what’s on offer at the Nail & Lash Bar it might be time for a mid life crises moment and get well and truly plucked.

Definitely worth a visit!

February

February again, great month, shorter so payday seems to come around more swiftly, warmer weather seems nearer though still just a rumour if today is anything to go by outside and of course Valentines day, for me a one card wonder “thanks Mum” but for you all I am sure so much more!

Still nice and warm in the Frenchgate throughout the year so why not pay us a visit here where all your Valentines gifts and presents can be found and believe me there are some great offers to be had, check the Frenchgate website for details.

New Year

Christmas gone, New Year a memory, back to work and snow, great!

Still the good news is that the Frenchgate has got some great offers for the New Year with most of the retailers virtually giving quality goods away.

Please take a look at the offers page on this website that will more than give you a flavour of this, so if you want a safe, warm and easily accessible option to your post holiday season come and pay the Frenchgate a visit.

A very Happy New year to you all!

So Here It Is!

Christmas seemed so far away, plenty of time left to get presents for immediate family, token presents for those you communicate with at a distance and cards for the rest.
Suddenly its here, next week! Christmas do’s in full swing (as are next day hangovers and apologies), advent calendars looking like a battlefield and the annual fear of dodgy socks and tasteless jumpers is upon us all.

But that is Christmas, we at the Frenchgate get this and sympathise, we have a great deal more to offer to soften the inevitable, great food, great gifts, great decorations and a great grotto for the children (we also have a fantastic children’s play area for them to use up some of their excess energy prior to the day). So come and join us at the Frenchgate and indulge Christmas with us.

Ice Sculpting

So to add to the build up to Christmas we had a visit from some Ice Sculptures who demonstrated that it is not only the Texas chainsaw massacre that can make an impression with a set of power tools.

A very interesting and strangely captivating demonstration of live art which drew in the crowds, the end results were a great looking Santa and his sack of goodies and a remarkable reindeer.

Time is also getting short for the children to visit Santa’s Grotto which this year is an enormous Ice Mountain, so bring them down to visit and the great gifts they will get may give you some peace and quite whilst you do the Christmas shop

Christmas Kick Off

Great to see snow and sleighs on our light switch on event. Its about time the weather performed (helped by strange men with backpacks on) to order.
Fun evening with the Rovers and Knights pulling in the crowds, fans and hangers on and really great to see all the younger Christmas enthusiasts getting a ride in Santas Eco Sleigh.
So if you missed out there are still plenty of events to participate in the run up to the day itself which of course includes the grotto which will be with us seven days of the week to ensure we get there with our wish lists catered for

Bah Humbug!

It’s that time again, when clichés come home to roost by the bucketful, and to be honest, I just don’t get it. Let’s B Frank about it, well I’m always Frank, there’s no getting away from that, the fact is Christmas is for the kids isn’t it? An excuse to indulge them in a toy and wrapping paper frenzy.

For the rest of us it’s just hard work, well for certain members of the family in particular if I’m honest. Year after year I watch my wife go through the same stresses and strains with deliberations on present buying, and melting our credit card stocking our new kitchen to the rafters with food as if we were going to run out and starve whilst the shops are shut for 1 day.

So inspired by my wifes annual tale of woe I have instituted a different slant on Christmas shopping at Frenchgate this year. Saturdays are going to be about the kids and having fun as families, but Wednesdays are going to be all about spoiling the spoilers, the ladies’ in our lives.

So I hope that ladies reading this (my wife especially) will see this gesture of good will as an olive branch from the male species, and a minor nod in recognition of all they do to make the Christmas holidays great for the rest of us. Thanks Ladies!
Frank

Let’s b Frank!

‘When our new marketing company told me they were going to overhall our image and our website as part of the initiative I was delighted! I have been centre manager here for 6 months now and have seen the changes the centre has been through and am keen that all in Doncaster should know about them, hence we launched the ‘Discover’ campaign. Encouraging people to take another look at the Frenchgate centre, and see the improvements we have made and how our retail offering is constantly growing and our offering is constantly expanding in its quality and scope. In my waxing lyrical about the centre I managed to birth an idea in our marketing companies head ‘ Frank should have his own blog’. So here I am, proof that anything you say can and will be used in evidence against you!’

‘This week I’d like to blog about Halloween; we have a Halloween activity in centre on 31st October and I didn’t understand why we should have enchanted fairies doing the facepainting instead of witches, my marketing friends at TBM (Toolbox Marketing) told me their intention was not to scare the children who would come up close and personal with these face painting characters, but to give them some fun, and a chance to look scarey themselves if they wanted to. But I think I might sneak into the back of the scarey story times at Waterstones, I like a good scarey story, I might even dress up, I was thinking ‘Frankinstein’? See you there!’
