A novel way to celebrate World Book Day with Frenchgate
From shopping to swapping – Frenchgate Shopping Centre is inviting customers to take part in a special book swap to celebrate World Book Day.
Shoppers in Doncaster can take their old books to Frenchgate and choose another donated book from the collection, starting Friday 1st March, in the lead up to the main day on Thursday 7th March.
Our initiative is designed to inspire more people throughout the town to discover a new book and celebrate their love of reading.
This endeaver is supported by WH Smith and Waterstones. The latter will be hosting book-themed events throughout the day, with activities including a treasure hunt and activity sheets. Pupils from Doncaster schools will also be able to spend their £1 World Book Day tokens in both stores.
World Book Day is a registered charity on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own. It’s also a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading.
