Local artist, Graham Firth, has been creating art from seemingly ordinary moments throughout day-to-day life at Frenchgate.
The well-known born and bred Doncaster artist has been capturing the magic within the centre as shoppers prepare for the hectic Christmas period.
Graham has an impressive artistic background and 30 years of teaching experience. He has entered many open art exhibitions and even held numerous one man shows in various parts of Britain. More recently, Graham produces his work through observational drawings of the public, usually from the comfort of cafes to allow him to sit back and take it all in.
Graham has used his speciality of on-the-spot drawings to lovingly construct pieces of vibrant art from the normality of the public’s lives. He uses a wide range of media, such as ballpoint pens, markers, pen and ink and watercolours which have all enabled him to encapsulate the energy within Frenchgate over the last few weeks.
Frenchgate is privileged to have Graham and his expertise as our artist in residence at the centre. Seeing his work come to life through his unique style and how he has captured moments in time over this festive period has been a pleasure.
You can buy books by Graham Firth packed with even more of his pieces at our Guest Service desk.
