From arts and crafts to ghastly make up looks, there’s something for everyone to get involved in. It’s the perfect excuse to spend some well-deserved quality time with your family or the loved ones you live with!

Getting Crafty
Pumpkin carving is a staple for most families when Halloween rolls around – but this year, we’re feeling inspired to get a little more creative. Why not try a more intricate design on your pumpkin? If you’re feeling dedicated, you can find yourself some crazy stencils or you could go completely rogue and draw your own, freehand.
For the little ones, it’s much safer (but sadly no less messy!) to paint a pumpkin instead of carving. The best part about getting creative, no matter your age, is that there are no rules – just stock up on paint and brushes, and go wild! When you’ve finished, position your mini masterpiece outside of your house for everyone to admire as they walk past.

Daring Decor
The best way to get into the Halloween spirit is to spooky-up your surroundings! Whether you’re a DIY person or you’re looking to buy ready-made, we have tons of great décor ideas here in the Centre. Wall hangings and creepy critters are always a great idea, and both Poundland and Wilko have plenty of options under £5 that are perfect if you’re on a budget.
Making the most of your spooky room is easy – it’s the perfect backdrop for a cosy movie night with your loved ones, or a great Zoom party with friends from afar. You could even have a competition to see whose room looks the most hair-raising. We might not be able to have guests over at the moment, but you can still show off your newly-decorated house of horrors with a couple of cool snaps on Instagram.

Bake-Off
Chef’s hats at the ready – it’s the perfect time to get your bake on! From cake pops to cookies and everything in between, there’s no better occasion to get creative with your cooking. If you’re looking for some inspiration in ghoulish treats, Waterstones have a great range of recipe books ready to get you into the baking spirit. You’re guaranteed to find every ingredient you’ll possibly need in the centre, so why not head in for a browse?
Once you’ve finished baking your goodies, share the love with your family and friends. You could even do an at-home ‘Bake Off’ to see who takes the crown for the best bake!
Alternatively, if you’re not the culinary type – don’t fear! Krispy Kreme and Greggs have released their Halloween range's so there is no need to miss out on some fantastic treats this October.

Make-Up Madness
Not going out? This doesn’t have to mean you have to stay dressed down – if anything, it’s an excuse to really put your make-up skills to the test with some crazy Halloween SFX! Whether you like to go for prettier, more intricate designs, or you like to go all out with horrifying, gory make-up – it’s the perfect time of year to get practicing.
Why not challenge yourself to come up with something outside of the box? Make-up is a great way to express yourself creatively, and Halloween is an even better excuse to go wild with it. Check out either YouTube videos or get some great advice from our girls at the counters in Debenhams, Boots and Dazzle for inspiration, and when you’ve done, display your creation on social media or in a virtual catch-up with your pals.
