Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster city centre is set to launch a competition in collaboration with Yorkshire Wildlife Park as part of their new Christmas campaign.
The Centre’s Christmas campaign has a new theme for 2022 named “Project Christmas” featuring a hand-crafted paper snowy white polar bear at the centre of the campaign, and Frenchgate is giving young visitors to the Centre the opportunity to name the bear.
As part of the campaign, the Centre will be highlighting issues facing polar bears and their environment, which is a contributing factor to their vulnerability as a species.
Polar bears have a special place in many Doncasterian’s hearts due to the city being home to the only polar bears in England at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the largest centre for polar bears outside of Canada.
Launching on Wednesday 9th November, visitors to the Centre will be able to visit the sculpture of the bear outside H&M and Beaverbrook’s which will have its very own postbox for anyone wanting to suggest a name for the bear.
Entrants should pick up a form from Guest Services and fill in their name and contact details along with their proposed name then post the note in the competition post box.
The winner of the competition will win a tailor made polar bear experience courtesy of Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Terms & Conditions
The Polar Bear Experience is suitable for guests over the age of 8. All children must be accompanied by a full paying participating adult (age 16+). The prize will be a tailor made 30 minute Polar Bear experience on the day of the winners choice excluding Saturdays in August, Bank Holidays or event days. Prize includes entry to the Wildlife Park. Prize valid until August 31st 2023. Must be pre booked. Sensible footwear (closed toe) and clothing are required on the experience. Experience involves steps and uneven ground. Visitors with restricted mobility should call 01302 535057 to discuss individual requirements before booking. All guests, including children, to wear facemask for experiences with primates (incl. lemurs) and carnivores (incl. red panda and otters). Anyone who is medically exempt and refuses to wear a facemask cannot do the experience.
