THE FRENCHGATE SHOPPING CENTRE - MOTHER'S DAY PORTRAIT COMPETITION
The Frenchgate Shopping Centre are inviting the children of fifty local schools to create a portrait of their selves and their Mother for Mother's Day.
The children can portray their mum in whatever materials they like - felt tips, paint, crayon, collage or even computer generated - and to assist them, we are sending their class teacher a Teacher's Project Pack and posters to provide the budding artists with all the inspiration they will need.
The closing date for entries is Wednesday, 24th February when the portraits will be judged and the best entries displayed in the Centre.
Prizes will be awarded in for the best portraits in both the judge’s choice and people’s choice categories as well as a £100 donation up for grabs to the school with the best entries.
We will also upload all the portraits onto our Facebook page so that everyone can see how talented the children are. The organic likes and shares gained on these online exhibit will count towards the coveted People’s Choice Award.
The competition is open to all local children between the ages of 5 and 11 and entry forms are available from the Customer Services Desk at the Frenchgate Shopping Centre.
If your child is interested and doesn’t attend one of the schools we selected their participation is still welcome and encouraged. Simply collect a form from Customer Service and follow the instructions. Alternatively you can contact the Frenchgate Centre and ask for Matthew Owen who can provide you with details on how your child or your child’s school can enter.
